DTH @ 120
This wraparound celebrates The Daily Tar Heel’s 120th anniversary of publication and 20th anniversary of financial independence.
I focused on the overall design and content of the wrap and double truck, from inception to completion. I worked closely with the photo editor to take photos of the pages in the archives. To decide which front pages we wanted to feature, I mined microfilm and bound volumes for historic happenings in UNC and DTH history.
I designed the double truck and suggested including the diagram of front pages and a crossword from the paper that ran on Feb 23, 1943, in addition to editing the graphics and working with others in the newsroom to bring this project to completion.
